So, when I make the candy stripe bracelet, the bracelet doesn't lay flat; it folds up. Am I knotting too tight or what?

i remember when i created the candy stripe. it was rainbow, and i didn't even tie the knots tight so it was s t r e t c h y ( hope i spelled it right XD) and the knots were not in the right places ethier!

my bracelets that have white seem to get dirty easily. has anyone come up with a way to clean it so the white looks white and not a dirty white? help please!!!
