I want to make sure before I start. And is there a thread for this kind of style? Like how to use a ribbon clasp?

This pattern has 18 strings though :-)

It depends on how tight you knot and on how thick your strings are. You'll have to try yourself. Best way is to measure bracelets you already knotted up.

I've never used them, but as far as I know you can use regular floss or yarn. I think most users add a bit of glue to the ends, inside the clasp.
