i think that pattern #24 and #792 are exactly the same. i didnt notice this until now when i tried to print them...

RE: same patterns by CoHa 14 years ago

Yes, it is. There are many similar patterns in the database (only with other colors)!

1008 and 1010 are also duplicates, but different color scheme

RE: same patterns by K8e92 14 years ago

dont you think the duplicate should be removed? because i think it should or something else. any ideas?

RE: same patterns by Acid 14 years ago

I think the duplicates should be removed but also it would be hard to keep track on the duplicates all the time. I've seen quite a few lately or even some with a tiny slight variation on the pattern.

RE: same patterns by Joy 14 years ago

do u mean w/ like knots that go a diff way then the orig. pattern??

RE: same patterns by Acid 14 years ago

For example:

Pattern #3853 and #3258 are extremely similar to #1808 there is literally either one string missing or the pattern isn't repeated for as many squares.

Pattern #3675 is basically the same as #2736 oh hang on it is.

#3684 only has checkers in the middle but it the same as #1637 effectively (hence the slight change)

#3489 same as #212, just different colours used and strangely similar to #28 also.

#3815 is basically the same as 2953 minus one slight detail.

Pattern Pattern #3491 and #3502 are the same just the later goes into inverted colours rather than black and yellow.

#3318 and #3342 are the same thing just different coloured background.

Last but not least the one that has REALLY annoyed me #3815. #28 looks better. #3815 only has the variation of 2 strings and the diamond missing but it is basically the same pattern.

What about designating duplicates like this: (example)
xxxx-a where the 'x' is the number and then a letter?
Like a serial number sort of :-/

RE: same patterns by Acid 14 years ago

That sounds like an idea. The letter standing for the variation of the following pattern?
