CHEAP STRING???? by seaskulls 12 years ago

I'm looking for cheap string.... where do you get yours?????

RE: CHEAP STRING???? by SayOui 12 years ago

If you use embroidery floss, buy the Anchor ones. They're cheaper than DMC (in the store I buy from, anyway). I think crochet threads are cheaper than embroidery floss 'cause they come in bigger quantities. You can get them at needlecraft stores. I buy my strings from a local cross stitching store.

I get mine at Ebay or Amazon. Sometimes there are good offers. Good luck!

I usually buy mine from JoAnn Fabrics. Usually they're not anymore than $.35 per scain. We get their sales coupons in the mail so it's usually even a smidge cheaper. You may also find some good deals if you buy in bulk online.

I use crochet cotton size 10. you can find it in most department stores. It cost me about $2 for a roll that is 350 yd / 320m.

Joann's is cheapest for me here, but its far enough away to use up the difference in gas to buy the closest one, so I just go to Hobby lobby.

I go to michaels its $0.35 each for DMC, but if you buy big packs you might get more out of it.

Yupp, if you buy the 105 packages at Michaels, each skien is about 4 cents each!
