That happens to me a lot too. I do what cmnewton44 does. This actually happened with my most recent weekly contest entry. One of my dark pink strings broke so I just tucked the broken part underneath so it was out of the way and put a new piece in its place. When the bracelet was done, I trimmed both of the tails (from the broken string and the new string) close to the bracelet and put a teeny dab of glue to stick them down so they weren't sticking out. The glue isn't necessary, I just like a clean looking back on my bracelets. :-)
