I tried to make the paw print pattern (grid). Here's the URL:

Well, anyway, When I made the parts where the paw print appeared, and there were more than one of them, since all the knots were on the same strand, it came out looking like a Chinese Staircase. Any way to prevent this?

Maybe you're not pulling your knots up into place enough?

All the other knots that were part of the background were tight enough..
