Wow, Joy, this was rude. Again. Can't you just chose your words a little bit wiser?

Pooky, I don't know of any patterns, but if you know how to do the alphabet style you can make your own patterns out of mobile phone logos, like these:
http://www.handy-sonne.de/sitemap-handylogos.shtml?mmchar1_10=&mmstart1_10=1&mmsection1_10=189&mmphonetype1_10=&mmmoreinfo1_10=0&mmpart1_10=&mmsearch1_10=&mmstype1_10=&mmcat1_10=&mmcountry1_10=

You just have to
- save the pic on your pc
- open it in paint
- resize to 800%
- add a grid
- save as monochrome bitmap

I haven't tried it on my own, but others confirmed that it indeed works very well.

theres a search engine? oh, i knew that and i did mean to be broad here because the patterns didn't matter thanks rissa!

RE: HOLIDAY PATTERNS by Joy 14 years ago

ok one question rissa, how do u get a grid to apper on the paint?? i can't figure it out

RE: HOLIDAY PATTERNS by Rissa 14 years ago

I just tried it. As I use a German version of Paint I can't say that my translations are 100% correct. I haven't done this before, just copied what otehrs said and it works quite well.

When I open paint and insert the pic there are two ways to change picture size. Don't use Picture/resize, instead go to View (?)/zoom-800%, then go to View/zoom again and you can check the grid. In the German version you can use ctrl+r to activate it, I don't know if it's the same with other language verions.

But I noticed that before you can save the pic you have to make a screenshot (prnt-scrn) of paint showing the pic, close the pic and enter the screenshot. Then you can finally save it, otherwise just the tiny logo is saved.

RE: HOLIDAY PATTERNS by Joy 14 years ago

ok i got it now! thanks rissa. for my computerits ctrl g. i nvr new u could do a gird.. one more thing,. how do u do no it will be a fwd bw, fb or bf knot when u do the grid though??

RE: HOLIDAY PATTERNS by Rissa 14 years ago

This is another style of bracelet making called alpahbet style. You make only fk and bk, no fk/bk or bk/fk and normaly use two colors. There are ways to do more than two colors, and then there's one method which uses the other two knots, but that's not important for beginners.

It's a bit like weaving because you have one very long working thread and several short background threads.
The working thread is moving from left to right and left again (doing a whole row of fk, then a whole row of bk which are forced to be horizontal and not diagonal), the background threads are used to make the pic show.

Here's a tutorial for that method:
http://friendshipbracelets.forumz.cc/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=1084

There are some more at Heather's forum which explain the style very well.

I'd suggest you to have a look at these because with this style you can make nearly every picture possible into a bracelet.
