When I first show others' my bracelets they always ask me is this hemp?? But I'm not sure exactly what hemp is. I always thought that friendship bracelets were macrame. So, what are friendship bracelets (like,what category do they fall under) and what is hemp??

Hemp isn't a kind of handcrafting, but some fibre.

I think it's some very basic kind of macrame. But I doubt that most people would be any wiser if you told them it's a subform of macrame, especially if they don't know anything about handcrafting.

If asked I tell people that it's all knots, that's enough for most of them.
