I was trying to improve an existing pattern (more than just a little). As usual, I entered everything from the thread arrangement to the first row of knots and wanted to see if everything so far turned out the way I intended. But when I hit "generate" to have a look, I was only told that the pattern already exists and that I should try again.

Frankly, I cannot plan ahead twenty rows for more complicated patterns because, frankly, one wrong knot or one mistake in my thread arrangement will spoil it completely - and I don't have the patience to work my way through dozens of rows! I really need to see the interim stages to get things done. Right now, my only options seem to be paint or knotlink.com. *grumbles*
