I notice that i can never make my braids stay even throughout my end of my bracelets. I start out really tight and nice, and then i get looser, and then it gets tighter, and i always get theese tangles on the bottom of my string. HELP

Hey guys, I'm working on pattern . . . A11366, and I was wondering how many rows should I do before I start the pattern? I have a pretty fat wrist (-_-), so I don't know exactly how long I should make it before I start the pattern. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

What is the best way to start off an alpha pattern? I'm fine when I make key-chains, but when I try to tie the strings in a knot (for a bracelet) it goes crooked, and the entire pattern ends up slanted. Advice would be appreciated.
