Does anyone coat the back of their finished alpha bracelet with clear fingernail polish? I'm wondering if doing so will help the bracelet last longer.

If you want extra protection, I would suggest stitching a backing on before coating it in nail polish. As it ages, the nail polish will probably crack and poke your wrist.

It damages the strings and weakens them, and sometimes seeps throught the fibers and wrecks the colors.

When I finish my alpha bracelets I bend the bracelet all over, then in the spots that it seems to be weakest, I put a little tacky glue on the back. It really makes them strong.
