i get all of my string at michaels. My favorite is the loops and threads brand.. it comes in packs and you can get packs of really bright colors. the string is kind of different than what you get one at a time.

I buy most of mine at Wal-Mart. I've had no problems with it so far and you can buy a pack of 106 for $11!
