Why aren't string lengths provided for each pattern?

Answer :

String lenghts depend on

- how long you want the finished bracelet to be

- whether you start and end your bracelet with braids, or start with a buckle

- the kind of string (floss) you use

- how tightly/loosely you knot.

We encourage everyone to keep track of how long they made the threads for each pattern. That way you might end up having some thread left over on one bracelet, but you'll know how much shorter to make them next time.

If you print out the patterns, put a note at the bottom how long you made the threads, so you'll know next time -- or you can use those lengths as a guideline for your next project.
