Photos to alpha patterns

Does anyone know of an easy way to turn pictures to alpha patterns that will work on an ipad? I did find a website that did it, but they were too large to put on the website and I couldn't edit them once they were done. Any suggestions for the above question? |

I have an app called 'magic mosaic'. You can take a picture and the app will pixel it. I didn't really try to make a pattern yet. You'll need a clear picture , that's all I know. |
