I want to make the pattern A28680 and have an idea how to do it but trying to figure out my base color strings. Could I alternate red and white strings for the base or do I need to do all red and try to add in the white for the skull? Really didn't want to have to add in so if anyone has any ideas that would be super helpful!! Thanks!

If you need 3 colors I would take two as base- strings and the last one as background-string. But some people say it will be much better to never use your base-strings for tying and add in all colors you need.
