Introduction


This is a very easy bracelet for those of you who know how to tie a candy stripe and chevron.



Materials and Set Up


You need 8 strings of 4 colors, 2 of each color. Begin your bracelet anyway you want, and arrange them so they are next to their matching color.



Step by Step



Step 1


You are going to start knotting a chevron, but do NOT tie the middle together.



Step 2


Keep knotting it like two sparate candy stripes ( I shall refer to them as the right and left columns) until you have four rows on each section.



Step 3


Take the most inward string from the left side and forward knot it to the right inward most string.



Step 4


Continue to knot it all the way to the outside.



Step 5


Tie the other middle string to the left all the way to the outside.



Step 6


Repeat steps 3 and 4.



Step 7


Take the outside string of the left column and tie it inward. Do with both strings of the same color. Repeat with the right column.



Step 8


Tie the outside strings ones inward again. Make sure you remember not to tie them to the other collumn.



Step 9


Repeat steps 3-8 until you have the bracelet as long as needed.

2-Color Variation

Materials and Set Up


Made with 2 different colors (2 of 70" long, 2 of 32" long) arranged:

1L, 1L, 1L, 1L, 2R, 2R, 2R, 2R.
Threads should be prepared in the usual way -- folded in half.

The middle threads, '1L, 1L, 2R, 2R' will be the longer ones, after Step 1 they will be the only ones used.



Step by Step



Step 1


Left side: Make 3 forward knots, 4 times.
Right side: Make 3 backward knots, 4 times.



Step 2


In the middle, make forward knot to join both sides.



Step 3


Left side: Make 3 backward knots.
Right side: Make 3 forward knots.



Step 4


Repeat #2 and #3.



Step 5


Left side: Make 3 forward knots.
Right side: Make 3 backward knots.



Step 6


Repeat #5.



Step 7


Repeat from #2 for pattern.
