Hello i'm big on the friendship wheel also known as kumihimo a japanese form of braiding. I use the friendship wheel by alex toys but i arrange my strings according to my pattern of course! i've only worked with 16 strings since thats all my wheel allows me to do. there's also a square maker, but i have not heard of a generator for it yet. well check out my photos for patterns and enjoy!
