Is there a way to braid the round kumihimo patterns so that they appear as a flat braid? The round braids rotate around the round disk but the flat braids need to go from top to bottom on the square plate. How do I braid the patterns generated by the generator on a square plate? Is it possible to have a square plate pattern generator? Thanks from this newbie braider. :D

I'm not experienced with flat braid kumihimos, but I don't think you can braid round kumihimos to appear flat, because they have different structures. They would look differently.

I think it should be possible to braid round kumihimos on a square plate. You just follow the steps for a round braid and it will turn out as a round braid.

I have made some flat kumihimos with designs, but as halokiwi says: You can’t simply braid the round patterns flat and have the same design as the round one.
