Okay so Im a Kingdom Hearts fan and want to make a keychain with a mini keyblade hanging off of it for a friend. I have more than enough practice to actually make it, the dilemma is how do I start and finish it with the pendant on one end and maybe a keyring or clasp of some such on the other, and which end should I start with?

Its going to be a free-hand "Normal Pattern" bracelet style with 3-4 colors and probably 6-8 strings. The pendant is maybe 3 inches long and 1/2-1/4 of an inch wide, if any of that helps.
