When patterns are too large to be worn as a bracelet

Hi! I'm new to this site and new to making alpha pattern bracelets. This site has a ton of great patterns, but the really cool ones have 40+ strings. I don't mind working with lots of strings, and wouldn't be deterred from a 40+ string pattern, but then the bracelet is way too wide for me to wear as a bracelet. Is there a way to make the bracelet more narrow? Or is there a way to make the pattern smaller? |

Generally no, unless you redesign the pattern entirely. If you like a particular part of the design, you could do just that part, such as the top 20 strings of a 40-string pattern. The largest I've done was 40 strings, and it can be worn as a bracelet, but it's really more of a cuff than a bracelet. Hope that helps! |

Or you could use tiny strings :-) Like maybe sewing thread. But I think it would be very difficult to work with that .... You could try doubling or tripling it, or you could take half of floss thread. |
