Bracelet Knots by __WeavingLion__ 7 years ago

I've been making friendship bracelets for a countless number of years, but I've always faced the problem of uneven looking knots and I have found no solution so far. To clarify, for example: mixed knots are large/lumpy compared to normal knots and some normal nots are differently sized, causing the bracelet to look rather uneven or messy. Although I'm able to at least make the pattern I'm making apparent, the bracelets themselves just don't look all that nice. I've tried pulling the strings in the direction I'm making the knot, I've tried making them tighter, is there something I am missing? Any and all advice would be very helpful. Thanks

It's all about the right tension, unless you're using string that's not even in thickness ofcourse.
Forwardbackward- and backwardforward-knots are always the most tricky ones. The first half of the knot tends to slide away before tightening the second half. That's something you need to avoid.
The only other thing I can advice is to pull the string to the right and up after a (half) forward knot, and to the left and up after a (half) backward knot.
And practice a lot :-)
