Behind the (alpha) Bracelet by AB_cullen 7 years ago

Hello everyone,

I want to make alpha patterns with multiple colors and some of the patterns are very beautiful, but quite complex. There are patterns where there is only a single/very few knot(s) by a color which doesn't repeat till later. Also, there are patterns with not as many colors, but where there is a great deal of switching.

I want to be able to make these patterns but also keep my bracelet looking neat. I don't want too many hard bumps on the back because of external knots/glue. It would be nice if the front and the back looked alike.

Can anyone please help? With pictures? Pretty please?

The way alphas are made, you can never make front and back look alike. Only two-colored alphas will have a nice backside.
To avoid bumps you can try this: knot every string-end and start of new strings inside a few other knots, only inside the first half of the knots. I've heard of some people here doing that, like PamelaT and Foz, and they both make the most beautiful alphas :-)
You don't need glue if you do that.
The only other way is knotting two bracelets and glueing them together.

Can you explain the first technique a bit more clearly? Is there a tutorial for it?
Also I didn't quite understand gluing two bracelets together...?

Sorry for asking so many questions ^^'

You mean the two-colored alpha? The tutorial for that is here.
We don't have a tutorial for the non-glued way of adding strings.
By glueing two bracelets I meant glueing the backsides together so you end up with the good sides on both sides of the bracelet. I'd only do that for keychains though, because it'll be thick and stiff ....

I was asking about the non-glued way, but after reading it a few more times I got it. Thank you so much :)
