Tools for bracelet making by Kevo 7 years ago

Hi Everyone! I got back into bracelet making after 25 years. I was wondering what everyone uses to secure the bracelet while working. I bought a iLoom but was just curious as to what everyone else uses. Thanks! Kevin😊

I use my handy, dandy clipboard. For me, it's the easiest to use and it get's the job done well.

I will start my bracelets with a loop (a buckle) and then I'll safety pin it to my jeans or a blanket. :) I find that the best way for me.

I usually clip my bracelets to a cardboard suitcase-type thingy

This is also great for storing supplies and taking it with me on the train etc :)

For me personally, it beats a clipboard because it's also more elevated; when my bracelet gets long enough I turn the box onto its back. So less bending forward, more movement space because it's not stuck right against flat surface. :)

I pin my bracelet to a hand towel and use a large binder clip to secure the towel when I am actively tying. When I take a break I can fold the towel up with the bracelet inside and use the clip to hold it together. I do most of my knotting riding the bus on my way to and from work.

The other tool that I find indispensable is a 2 inch long straight pin (a pearl headed corsage pin in my case) that I use to pick apart knots when I make a mistake. I leave it pinned inside the roll of fabric along the top of the towel so it is in easy reach while I am knotting.
