I made my daughter a kumihimo bracelet and would like to put it on her pencil, what would be the steps?

couldn't you try making it around the pencil? i'd try that :)

I can't be done with a regular kumihimo since the threads are going through the center. You could try it with the other way of braiding, with an uneven string amount.

What would you recommend, I was hoping I could make it go around a round object. I thought if I got the diameter I could make it and then put it over the object.

If you put the pencil in the middle, it's possible, I already did it with a basis for a bracelet. But it doesn't look like regular kumis, it reminded me of a chinese staircase.

Here is te tutorial I used to do it. I didn't find any picture of the bracelet I did, but it was really similar.

Kleinevos, would you put the pencil in as you are doing it or would you put the pencil in last. What patterns would you use for this? Or could you somehow get the kumihimo patterns to work? How would you get the diameter correct?

I've never done it myself, but I think you need to put the pencil inside while making the kumihimo. This way of braiding doesn't use the patterns that we have on here.

Wouldn't a regular (even) stringed kumihimo work like it would if you added a cord in the middle to make it thicker?
