If the knots aren't very tight, you will get some gaps between them. I've found that when I first started making friendship bracelets, there would be lots of small gaps, but now I can knot a lot tighter. This happens with any normal bracelet that's not an alpha. Put any tightly knotted bracelet up to a light and see! :) |

You need to practice a lot to improve your tension. I think most knotters start out with knotting fairly loose, at least I did :-) Especially the forward-backward-knots and the backward-forward-knots tend to be less tight than the other knots.

I totally agree with Allison and Kleinevos, you have to practice a lot and you'll find out the best way to knot your knots, I've noticed that everyone does it in a different way! It also depends on the kind of thread you use, I think that the softer it is, the easier it will be. I always use a plastic-y sort of thread and it's more difficult to knot it tight so I have to use much strenght with my fingers (they're destroyed btw), but every single bracelet is worth it! |

No problem! Yeah, waxed thread will definitely have "larger" holes in it than one that isn't waxed. |
