Plain "X" in red with black background. by BoyWonder 7 years ago

I've been looking all over for this! It's a pattern sorta like #9733 but just plain black background, plain red X. Hopefully around 12-16 strings. X looked like this picture Thanks for the help!

You can change the colors and still use #9733.

I thought about that. I was hoping to nix the blue dots on the edges. I know it's possible but I'm admittedly dense. I swore I saw the pattern I'm looking for once. I searched for a while day with no luck.

You could try #2039, it'll show you how to put the edge around the "x", there's just a slight wave to it so idk if that's close enough to what you're looking for...

or #6286 it even shows a blue edge around it

The blue "dots" on the edge are not really knots. It is just the string that is not getting a knot in that row. When you actually tie the bracelet, these bits of string are usually covered up the the knots in the rows before and after it.
So when you tie the "yellow" knots in row 1, make sure to snug them up against the knot you made on the previous row 9.
You can see this in photo #66066 of pattern #9733. The cross is in a cream or light tan color. There is no hint of this color against the dark blue-grey at the corresponding position.

For other ideas, always check out the "similar" patterns on the pattern page you originally found. Also try entering key words like "cross" or "x" into the pattern search page.

There's also #2736, just change the light blue and dark blue to a red!

RE: Plain by EdBlair 7 years ago

That will not work for that pattern because the dark blue color is both "inside" and "outside" (or between) the light blue cross outlines. If you use the same red for both blue colors, you will end up with a thick red stripe with a black border.
