weaving vs knotting by PastorMelissa 8 years ago

I've been considering the possibility of weaving a couple of the patterns. Has any of y'all tried this, and did it work? I'm feeling it might be doable on a loom with a 1-2 pattern. It might be doable with other patterns with a hand weave.

Just curious. I like to attempt new techniques, and curious if this one has been attempted/accomplished.

I haven't done it, but I think it could be really neat! I've thought about doing a bead loom of alpha patterns. Tips on weaving patterns would be great!

There's also a technique called ply split braiding. I've tried that and it's really cool :-) You can make every normal pattern that doesn't have the 'bend arrow' knots in it. Maybe you can even make the other patterns, but I didn't try that yet. I'm not sure if that would work.

And there are Japanese flat braid weaving techniques that probably would work fine too. And tablet weaving. So many nice techniques ..... ;-)

Regular loom weaving is more like alphas. Two colored patterns shouldn't be any problem, and I think adding colors is possible too.
If I had time, I would try it all :-)

Thank you so much! Once I get my list of projects done, that's next. I enjoy trying out new ideas, so this is exciting!
