Can an Administrator please help? by caffeinatedec 8 years ago

I've noticed my pictures from here being used without my permission on Instagram, is there a way I can delete them from this site so I can add a watermark? Or if an admin can delete them for me, please?

I'll take care of it. It keeps happening ..... :-(

It's really depressing. She put her own watermark on it too. When I asked her to take off the watermark and mention that it was mine, she blocked me and saI'd she could do whatever she wanted. Some people..

How annoying... Is there anything I could do to help? Maybe you could tell me her username on Instagram and I could report every picture she stole and her account

This has happened to many other users in the past and still keeps happening to many more. Unfortunately, even if we did report the pictures and/or account, we have no guarantee that it will be taken into action as Instagram just re-directs you to another page that gives you a bunch of reporting options and that's about it.

Least we can do in there is to announce and make users aware of the account that's stealing pictures/patterns and claiming it as their own. It's awful and I'm sorry your pictures got stolen.

Try putting a watermark smack in the middle of your picture (on top of the bracelets) and a few faint ones in the corners, wherever you might think it is possible to crop out. I'm sure if people are desperate enough to steal someone else's picture, they will figure out a way to erase or cover the watermark, but if not, then at least your name will be in there somewhere. Worth a shot.

You're right, KnotterHolic, it's such a shame... I'm sorry for all your pics, Katy, I never had the chance to see them, but someone stealing them talks about how beautiful your bracelets are! You're the only one who has the satisfaction of knowing you were the one who spent time making them and not that fake girl. Don't worry and keep knotting, we all support you! :)

Indeed we all do support each other, no doubt about it :)

And I just came across another one that has lots of pictures from different users here, including one of mine, on her account. At least this person left the watermarks on the pictures and she also removed my picture when I asked her too.

Most of the accounts that steal pictures are from Iran and have the word 'dastband' in their user-name.
And most of them say that they are only posting the pictures as an example of what they could make for you if you order a bracelet. They don't see any problem in taking pictures somewhere from the internet and post it without giving credits to the real creators.

But, as KnotterHolic mentioned, we can't do a whole lot about it :-(

It is extremely discouraging.. I ended up making a post on my account about it, but am really close to just closing my account and taking off all my pictures. I don't mind if they are used, just as long as my name is at least mentioned in them.

That's pretty much the reason I was given for why she did it, kleinevos. That she "made bracelets to make kids happy" and that since it was from the internet, she could do what she wanted with it.

I want to know what happens when people ask to buy a bracelet from the stolen pictures they are using!

Can my pictures be deleted as well? I've run into the same problem and I would like to put a watermark on my pictures too..
