I need a bit of help with something... by MexiPeanut 9 years ago

Hey guys,

I am supposed to be teaching a little friendship bracelet class to some Mexicans. Mexicans are not all that amazingly creative!
I once tried to teach some Canadian 11 year old friend how to make the spiral bracelet. It seems her knots were too lose. I tried to tell her that, but she kept making them lose, even though she was trying not to.
I am expecting to heave people maybe ages 10 and up coming to my class so...I need help.
-Does anyone have any ideas how I could teach bracelets well? Like, I mean, what designs should I teach them to make? I want them to be pretty easy to begin with.
-Does anyone have any tips I can maybe use to teach them to make the knots tight and neat enough?
Please...help me! I will be open to any suggestions anyone has...!

Thanks!!!

When I started teaching my daughter to make friendship bracelets. I started with the candy stripe. The very first bracelet I learned how to make. It takes time and a lot of practice. After she understood the forwards knot I taught her how to make the Chinese staircase. And now she is working on the chevron. I know we have videos on here for the very basic and beginning bracelets. I would watch those and see how they word their instructions. Maybe that will help you show other people of do make bracelets.
