I use up a lot of skeins all the time so I have a lot of those labels. I was wondering if anyone had any cool tips or tricks on what to do with them before they get thrown out?

I used to take a small piece of the floss, and tie it to the label that had the number on it, so that I had a future reference if I wanted to buy more of that color, sometimes, at least. Lately, I've been taking that little part with the color number, and taping it to the bobbin I wind the floss onto. I used to just throw them away.

Thats what I do sometimes. I don't use bobbins though lol too much work.. so I just tie the number and brand onto the string it is.

bobbins make it easier for me to set up bracelets I plan on making. I put them in a little plastic ziploc bag with the pattern number on it.

I just throw the plain old skeins together. lol. Maybe I was winding the string on the bobbins wrong, but I hated them. Bended and were hard to get off.

were they cardboard or plastic? I know I had a bunch that were cardboard, and they just didn't work very well at all. I buy the plastic ones that DMC makes, and they work rather well.

Cardboard, i think. I bought a Loops and Threads pack from michaels and it came with those.

yeah, cardboard isn't strong enough, michaels also should have the dmc bobbins, I buy most of mine there, or joanns also has them.

I also bought a set of stickers with all the DMC color numbers sized to fit on the plastic bobbins.

I have some of those as well, but they don't seem to like to stay stuck to the bobbins.
