Also, do you know how to keep the sides from curling inwards? I don't have this problem with my other bracelets, only this one.

I think it's this one! A 12 string pattern by Arismende, #72486

The curling is not uncommon when a pattern is diamond shaped like this, because all the knots will go to the centre. Maybe if you knot a little less tight in the middle, it will improve.
